Basic Digital Photography
Tue, Wed, Fri, Aug 5, 6, 8, 3:00-5:30 pm. $115 (members $90)
These are 2.5 hr blocks. Main instruction will be from 3:30-5:00 pm. The extra 30 minutes on each side are for project time and/or early arrivals/departures for anyone who can't make the entire block.
We will explain DSLR cameras and all the best practices for creating interesting and artistic photos, from standard portraits, landscapes, and family photos to specialized and artistic techniques that capture speed, slow-motion, extreme lighting, or night and astro photography. We will also show you how to digitally process your photos on a computer using free, open-source tools. You will keep your photos on a USB stick to take home, and you may print your photos on a photo printer!
Bring your own camera, or borrow one of ours until you decide what to buy.
For best results, bring your own computer so you can start learning to edit the photos and continue working at home.
Your instructor is a former professional photographer with over 45 years of teaching experience.
