What Clubs or Interest Groups Would You Like To Join?

Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society (STARS) welcomes amateur radio operators of all ages from around the Boston metro-west suburbs and beyond. We meet both in-person in Natick and via Zoom for those who live further away. Members include students, parents, teachers, and supportive individuals of all ages. We support and attend the Northeast HamXposition every year!

Sci-Tech Rocketeers, hosted by New England Sci-Tech, is a model rocketry club where you can learn to design, build, and fly model rockets. The club is open to adult members, as well as children ages 13 up. Children as young as 9 may participate with parent supervision. The club is registered as an official section of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), section #846.

Youth Inventors Workshop is for young inventors, coders, and builders in grades 6-12 who love any kind of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Free for members of New England Sci-Tech. Instructors are teachers or volunteers from NEST, some with engineering degrees, and some high school or college students with experience in robotics or electronics.

New England Weather Balloon Society (NEWBS) is dedicated to building and launching of high altitude balloons to the edge of space to take instrumentation readings, record video, and conduct experiments. We bring together tinkerers, makers, and engineers to work on exciting projects. StratoScience Lab is for middle/high students to design and launch scientific experiments. 

Wireless Technology Club, hosted by the Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society (STARS). Join us for a club that gets hands on with wireless tech, radio communications, and electronics. Have a ham radio license, but want to get your hands dirty? Come tinker and learn together. Don’t have a radio license? No problem. Give it a try to see if this hobby appeals to you.

Space Science and Astronomy is for all members who enjoy stargazing and telescopes. On a typical evening we will turn our telescopes toward the moon, planets, stars, and space station in the night sky. Members may attend our public telescope nights or plan events of their own. They may learn to use the telescopes and planetarium and may volunteer at public events.

Sci-Tech Hack Club is an interest group of students in grades 4 to 12 who enjoy coding and electronics. This student-driven interest group meets on Saturdays and generally anytime we open for general member activities. The Sci-Tech Hack Club is affiliated with the national Hack Club organization.

Battlin' Bots is an interest group of students in grades 4 to 12 who enjoy robotics and engineering. They use either 2 or 4 motors to create a remote-controlled bot to battle others in a plexiglass-enclosed arena. Students meet on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and generally anytime we open for general member activities.

Science Fiction Literature and Film Society for all members who enjoy sci-fi short stories, novels, and movies. We meet occasionally and informally. We read and discuss literature, watch and discuss classic sci-fi films, write our own stories, and generally encourage people to get creative and write their own stories.
