For students in grades 4 through 9, After School and Early Release Day Workshops are fun and educational enrichment activities. Early drop-off and late pickup can be arranged. Space is limited. Ideally we want to gather a group of 4 to 10 students for an optimally sized program.
+ We try to give students choices and variety each day. Workshops may include Electronic Kits Soldering, Battlin’ Bots, LASER cutting and engraving, Woodworking Projects, Model Rocketry, Planetarium Shows, Shortwave & Ham Radio, Chess / Board Games, Pinewood Derby Racing, Bridge Building Contests, Oobleck, Arts and Crafts, Airplane Design Contest, Chess Tournaments, Billiards tournaments, MIDI keyboard music.
+ NE SciTech offers snacks and lunch items for purchase separately (most items are $1 to $1.50 each) or students may bring their own food.
+ The lead instructor has been a teacher for 43 years and has taught math, algebra, Latin, French, English, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, geology, electronics, computer programming, woodworking, graphic design, photography, amateur radio, and orienteering. All adult instructors in this program go through CORI/SORI verification.
+ Parents are welcome to stay during the workshop to assist their own children, or to hang out in another room and work on their own. WIFI access and a ready supply of coffee, tea, and snacks is available.
