HomeWorkshop: Electronic Gadgets
Learn to Solder - Build an Electronic Gadget
Repeat this Workshop as many times as you like. See special event dates below.

Learn how to solder electronics to make cool gadgets such as snowflake ornament, FM radio, crystal nightlight, spinning top, and more. Kit is included in the workshop price.

Topics learned while building kits include soldering safety, basic electronics parts and their functions, and elementary DC circuitry. Students will need good vision and dexterity to handle hot soldering irons. General workshop tools, materials, and safety glasses will be provided. First-time participants will start with a beginner-level electronics kit (spinning top or crystal nightlight).

Price is per single child or adult individual, but parents may work with and/or help their child at no extra charge.

You may repeat this workshop multiple times, each time building a different kit provided by us or you may bring one of your own. Note, you are paying for dedicated instructor time to help you solder. Members are welcome to purchase kits to solder on their own at NEST, or you can purchase kits to take home and solder in your own workshop.
