HomeWorkshop: Guitar Building Workshop
Guitarmaking

Build your own electric guitar from basic kit parts! Learn how to do simple woodworking and artistic design, file, sand, polish and paint. The guitar body is your work of art. Then attach the pre-made fret board, wire up the electrical components, and hook it up to an amplifier. Awesome!

See the young man in the top photo with the partially finished guitar? He builds these and will be the workshop leader.

NOTE: This web page explains the details of this workshop. To register, please click on the actual course start-date in the EVENTS CALENDAR and look for the REGISTER tab to the upper right.

Workshop fee includes all basic parts, pre-cut and pre-drilled wood base, fret board, guitar hardware, pick guard, strings, and instruction. Wood is pretty much ready to go but can be further shaped and painted, if desired. Does not include amplifier, patch cord, and music lessons, but let us know if you would like us to arrange for these.

Two-day class: 1st day you will do all finishing touches on the wooden parts, stain or paint, and let dry until second class.  2nd day you will wire up the pickups, jacks, and potentiometers, attach fret board, and wire up the strings.
