Let us introduce you to one of the most dynamic areas in the Maker’s world – microcontrollers.

These little machines can do amazing things and are adding new capabilities as the basic building blocks get more powerful over time. One of the most popular microcontroller platforms is ‘Arduino.'

In this series of courses, you’ll learn the basics of coding and electronics, using simple “recipes” in each lesson to see the results fast. Each lesson shows you a new concept you can master and builds your skills so you’ll be ready to tackle more advanced concepts later.

We are currently offering Arduino classes at the Beginner and Intermediate levels.  In the future, we will be opening a bring your own project "Advanced Jam Session."  Please reach out to us if you would be interested in this.  See details for class times and content below.

Arduino Electronics - Introductory Course (3 weeks)

Weekly sessions with a full take home kit included.  This introductory series will be an introduction to the concepts and techniques only. Those wishing to take it to the next level will be able to sign up for additional workshops or become NESciTech members to be able to come back and keep working on projects.  Click here for more information about this class.

Three Weekly 1.5-hr Sessions, Next session is TBD, for Grade 6 through Adult, $100 (Members $75).

Students Are Free: This course with Arduino kit is FREE for students in high school or younger by using the code ARISS22 when you check out from your shopping cart ($100 value). Parents are also FREE and are encouraged to take this workshop with their students.

Arduino Robotics - Beginner Workshop
(6 weeks)

No prerequisites. Come learn how to control robotic sensors, servos, and LEDs using the most popular and widely used robotics microcontroller development board, the Arduino.  Together, we will learn how to write code using the Arduino coding language (based on C/C++), code that can be used to collect data from sensors or control devices like LEDs and servo motors. This class will work together to build and battle table top laser tag robots. This course is ideal for tinkerers and builders who are looking to unlock their journey into creating DIY electronic devices.  Join us for all 6 build sessions and battle on the final day!  Students will now be able to keep a take home Arduino kit as well as their completed robots.

Six Week 2-hr Sessions, Sundays, Oct 20, 27, Nov 3, 17, 24, Dec 8. For Grade 6 through Adult, $200 (Members $150).

Arduino Robotics - Intermediate Workshop
(6 weeks)

Level up your robotics game by creating your own autonomous obstacle-avoiding robot from scratch! You'll learn even more advanced algorithms, programming, sensors, and motors! This class is designed for those makers who want to go from "curious" to "enthusiast." By the end, you will have created your own fully functional robot to take home to further tinker with!  This course also comes with another complete Arduino kit and additional project-specific components.

Six Week 2-hr Sessions, Sundays, Oct 20, 27, Nov 3, 17, 24, Dec 8. For Grade 6 through Adult, $200 (Members $150).

Arduino Robotics - Advanced Jam Session
(6 weeks)

This class is for those who have either successfully completed the Intermediate Workshop or can demonstrate an advanced level of Arduino experience by taking a short test.  Bring your own projects, challenges, and in-depth knowledge to share with fellow advanced users. We'll delve into complex topics, troubleshoot together, and learn from each other's experiences, pushing the boundaries of what you can create with Arduino.

Schedule TBD.  Contact us if interested.
