Home School High School Courses: College Preview for Young Scholars

These innovative high-school level courses are designed for academically advanced and socially mature students in 8th through 12th grades who are eager to experience a collegiate-level learning environment. Home school groups may choose a course topic and register up to 8 students for a course time block.

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE COURSES

  • Conceptual Physics or Math-based Physics
  • Geometry or Trigonometry
  • Algebra I, Algebra II, or Pre-Calculus

KEY FEATURES

Profile - Norman Wittels

Norman Wittels, Instructor


Dr. Wittels received his PhD, Masters of Science, & Bachelors of Science degrees from MIT where he studied electrical engineering, electron optics and experimental physics, as well as mathematics including integral equations, transcendental functions, and higher-dimensional analytic geometry. He has industrial experience at Sperry Research Center, GE, IBM, Automatix Inc., and Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute. He has taught at MIT, WPI, Hunter College High School, Brookline High, and most recently Dexter Southfield School.

These courses aim to spark intellectual curiosity, develop critical thinking skills, and provide a transformative educational experience beyond traditional science and math instruction.


COURSE LOGISTICS
  • Runs 12 weeks in Fall, Winter, Spring, (skipping public school vacations).
  • Tuesdays or Thursdays, 9:30-11:30 AM, for 12 week sessions. 
  • Priced at $36 per 2-hour class for 12 classes, $432.
  • Home school groups may request a course subject. Call to discuss.
