NEST, STARS, and NEWBS will attend HamXposition 2024

NEW ENGLAND SCI-TECH (NEST) and SCI-TECH AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY (STARS) participate in the Northeast HamXposition in Marlborough every year. Our newest club New England Balloon Society (NEWBS) hosted a booth last year, too.

STARS/NEST/NEWBS will host three booths in the Atrium on Fri-Sat-Sun and host the Youth Forum on Saturday.

STARS/NEST will host Kit Building and Soldering Workshops on all three days. Details below.

STARS/NEST will help supervise youth members on Saturday if parents can't stay with them for the day.  See Youth Logistics below.

STARS will have several "Club Tables" at both the Friday DXCC Dinner and the Saturday Grand Banquet. Put the word "STARS" in the comment field when you purchase your banquet reservations.  (Dinner ticket purchasing closes August 18th.)

We need VOLUNTEERS for the booth and soldering workshops. PLEASE SIGN UP HERE.

YOUTH MEMBERS PARTICIPATION -- Parents Please Read

CONVENTION LOGISTICS INFORMATION for YOUTH MEMBERS and PARENTS

This HamXposition - Youth Forum document is for all youth members of NEST and their parents to read and discuss. There are specific sections that hopefully address any parent concerns. The Sci-Tech Amateur Radio Society (STARS) is a youth and family club of NEST and therefore we want our youth members attending this event to have a safe and enjoyable time. Please fill out this NEST HamX Youth Attendance Form to indicate your youth member's attendance.

What is New England Sci-Tech’s involvement at the convention?
NEST encourages its club members to attend the convention for the educational experience. NEST, STARS, and NEWBS host exhibitor booths in the Atrium to showcase our mission, host soldering workshops, and provide a central destination for youth and families looking for a place to gather and socialize during the day between breakout sessions. NEST/STARS/NEWBS members also give talks and host the Youth Forum on Saturday.

What is the Youth Forum?
The Youth Forum is a tradition that NEST/STARS has hosted for many years. We invite school and college age youth to hold a round-table discussion about their interests and experience in STEM, electronics, radio, and how they see wireless technology and ham radio in their future.
