A unique, hands-on workshop all about the nature of chocolate with Norman Wittels at New England Sci-Tech. Activities are geared toward CHILD-PARENT pairs, but adults may take the workshop without a participating child.

The workshop is intended to be experienced in a 3-session sequence, as the later concepts build upon previous experiences.

Students will learn about radio wave propagation, the electromagnetic spectrum, layers of the ionosphere, electronic circuits, radio operation, electrical safety, antennas, and so much more!

Students will learn how to solder electronic circuits and build an FM radio receiver to keep.

For many students, ham radio is a gateway into STEM careers such as Electrical Engineering, Space Exploration (many NASA astronauts are licensed amateur radio operators!), Emergency Management, Radio Systems Specialist, Aerospace Engineering, Medical Fields such as X-ray/MRI technicians.

Students will learn about radio wave propagation, the electromagnetic spectrum, layers of the ionosphere, electronic circuits, radio operation, electrical safety, antennas, and so much more!

Students will learn how to solder electronic circuits and build an FM radio receiver to keep.

For many students, ham radio is a gateway into STEM careers such as Electrical Engineering, Space Exploration (many NASA astronauts are licensed amateur radio operators!), Emergency Management, Radio Systems Specialist, Aerospace Engineering, Medical Fields such as X-ray/MRI technicians.

This series of two 90-minute hands-on learning sessions introduces and reinforces fundamental mechanical concepts. A primary focus is on application of these concepts will be the main property of the class. Concepts of a linear actuator and mechanical movement are introduced and reinforced with fun experiments and demonstrations. By the end students will be able to understand and create a mechanical engineering based invention along with obtaining a vast amount of knowledge on the basis of mechanical engineering.
